Clinton O’Neil Walden (affectionately called “Clint”) was born and raised in a poor working-class section of Atlantic City, New Jersey to loving parents, the late Willie H. Walden Sr., and the late Christine Walden. 

The youngest of three children, Clint came into the world under extreme complications that almost ended his mother’s life due to his enormity of size at the Birth Weight of 10 lbs. 5oz.

He attended the Atlantic City Public Schools and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1974 after an outstanding Football career. Pursued by numerous Colleges and Universities including Grambling State University, the University of Alabama, and Cheyney State University, (then Cheyney State College) he selected “Cheyney University,” the oldest Historical Black College & University (HBCU) in the country to further his education.

Upon a stellar College Football Career that landed “All Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference” honors in 1975-1976 and 1977-1978, he was drafted by the “Philadelphia Eagles” in the 1978 National Football League (NFL) Free Agent Draft.

He also played Pro-Am (Professional/Amateur) Basketball in the prestigious “Charles Baker League” of Philadelphia, PA. and the “Shore Basketball League” of Belmar, N.J.

In addition to his athletic prowess, Clint became the first in his family to graduate from college by earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Community Mental Health from Cheyney University and having this degree conferred upon him by then President, Jimmy Carter in 1979.

He has served as a Municipal Government Official for 27 1/2 years in the areas of Public Health, Code Enforcement, Demolition Contracts Coordinator, Land-Use & Zoning, and Planning & Development for the City of Atlantic City, N.J.

Prior to his Municipal Government career, Clint served 2 years as an Atlantic County Government Official in the areas of Workforce Development for the Manpower and Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA) Programs of Atlantic County, N.J.

 

He joined the United States Department of Commerce/the Bureau of the Census in May 1999 as Regional Partnership Specialist for Northeast Louisiana to establish Initiatives and Strategies that would assist communities in overcoming Census Enumeration barriers, especially in Under-Served, Ethnic and Historically Undercounted Populations.

In addition to his commitment to Public Service, Clint has successfully and passionately served as a Community Advocate & Activist as well as a Community Empowerment & Development Consultant for over 35+ years. He continues to have a Deep-Rooted commitment for Assisting People and Communities in Improving their Qualities of Life and Changing Conditions for the betterment of themselves and the communities that they live in.

Clint has been honored by a number of Communities, as well as Civic and Educational Organizations for outstanding work in Civil Rights, Public Service, Community Service, Community Development and as a positive Male Role Model. 

He has been called upon as a Political Consultant and Advisor to numerous Elected Officials from the National, State, County, Parish and Municipal levels.

Clint is married to the former Jacqueline Greggs, is father to Twin-Daughters Kristen and Jeanel Patten and Grandfather to one loving Grandson, Jah`meir Reed and an adorable Grand-daughter, Khai Madison Ward.
